What exactly is Earthgrove Artistry?

Earthgrove Artistry is a multidisciplinary creative practice owned by Guthrie Brown. It is a single, intentional space in south Huntsville that houses a professional hair salon, a shop for fine arts and handcrafts. My goal is to gather these passions under one roof to better connect the community through creativity.

What inspired the name?

Earth: the foundation of life itself; the intricate systems and ecosystems that sustain us.

Grove: a place of quiet beauty and reflection; free of distractions; historically, sacred spaces where people gathered in harmony.

Artistry: creativity, self-expression, and the transformative power of art in all of its many forms.

Together, these words represent the heart of my mission: to create a space that inspires connection, creativity, and care for one another and our world. One that celebrates the beauty of creation and the connection we share through the art we leave behind.

Why do you offer both hair services and fine arts?

To me, these aren’t separate businesses; they are different expressions of the same mission. Whether I am shaping hair or painting a canvas, I am focused on honest beauty and helping people feel grounded and seen.

Where is Earthgrove Artistry located?

You can find me in south Huntsville, AL. I work out of a private salon inside Serenity Hair Studio. I designed my space to be cozy and inviting, a respite from the chaos of daily life.

How do I book a hair appointment?

You can book directly through my Salon Booking Page. I prioritize one-on-one service, so I recommend booking in advance to ensure we have ample time for your specific needs.

What kind of hair services do you provide?

I offer a full range of personalized hair services, including precision cuts, styling, and custom coloring (such as balayage and grey coverage) for women. I also specialize in intentional men’s haircuts and grooming for those seeking a more approachable and high-quality experience.

How do you personalize each hair service to fit your clients’ needs?

Every client is unique, and so is their hair journey. I take the time to actively listen—your lifestyle, daily hair habits, life aspirations, fears and your hair goals. From there, I assess your hair’s texture, condition, and natural movement to craft a look that reflects your personality, what you hair is wanting and what would complement your features.

What’s your approach to sustainable beauty?

Sustainability is at the heart of my practice. From using eco-friendly products to recycling as much of salon waste as I can, I’m committed to minimizing my environmental impact. Small steps, like rethinking how we dispose of color tubes or repurposing hair clippings, add up to big changes. Choosing beauty doesn’t have to come at the cost of the planet.

Can I visit the studio just to look at art?

Absolutely. I welcome visitors to explore the fine art paintings, photography, and handcrafts.  To ensure privacy for salon appointments, please reach out via my Contact Form if you’d like to set up a time to come by.

Do you take commissions for paintings or jewelry?

I am always open to discussing " custom work. If you have a specific vision for a painting or a piece of handcrafted jewelry, please contact me so we can explore that story together.

Can I use your art or photography for commercial or personal purposes?

I’m always open to licensing opportunities and collaborations for the right projects! If you're interested in using my artwork or photography for commercial or personal purposes, whether it be as backgrounds, banners, or other creative applications, feel free to reach out.

For personal or commercial use, a small contribution can be made to license my images. For a detailed list of my commercial and personal use agreements, please click here and let’s connect and explore how my work can complement your vision.

What inspires you to create and keep at it?

Inspiration comes from everywhere and everything in my life—nature, human connection, fleeting moments, and even silence. Sometimes it’s the grandeur of space that humbles me, and other times, it’s the small, overlooked details, like the minimalist lines of a landscape or the glint of sunlight through a cracked window. People inspire me too, in their stories, their energy, and their resilience.

But more than anything, it’s the desire to document,  interpret and know the world, to show that beauty exists in the ordinary and the extraordinary. It’s about telling a story, preserving a feeling, or asking a question through the lens of my perspective. Creation is my way of making sense of the world and inviting others to see it from a different angle.

Why do you incorporate nature so heavily into your work?

Nature is grounding, humbling, and endlessly inspiring. It reminds us of both our smallness and our interconnectedness. Whether it’s the sweeping majesty of a canyon or the delicate intricacy of a leaf, nature has a way of speaking truths that words often cannot. My goal is to bring those truths to life through my work, offering viewers a chance to reconnect with the world and themselves.
